EVcharge will manage 28 charging stations in Castilla y León
Sustainable mobility continues growing in Castilla y León.
The Fundación Patrimonio Natural de Castilla y León, a public entity under the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Planning of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, has put out to tender the management of 28 charging points for electric vehicles in rural environments and linked to the protected natural areas of the autonomous community.
This initiative is part of the Foundation’s strategy to promote sustainable practices and encourage the use of clean energies. It is of particular interest to drivers of electric vehicles in the region and to “green tourists” who come to visit its privileged network of protected natural areas.
One of the initiatives of the MOVELETUR project
This initiative is part of MOVELETUR, ‘Sustainable tourism and electric mobility in natural areas’, a project co-financed by the INTERREG V-A Spain – Portugal Cooperation Program (POCTEP) 2014-2020 with a financial contribution of 75% from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The objectives of this project are as follows:
- Promote a sustainable and clean tourism model for visitors to border natural areas.
- To create a network of “green” tourist itineraries that connect points of natural and cultural value in border natural areas using electric vehicles.
- To train businessmen in the tourism sector and entrepreneurs in the natural areas to offer an electric mobility tourism offer.
EVcharge, winner of the tender
EVcharge, the leading technology company in electric vehicle charging management, has been awarded the operation of the 28 semi-fast charging points. Its functions will include the integration, maintenance and management of the recharging points for a period of 1 year, which may be extended for a longer period.
The recharging points were manufactured by Circutor, Orbis, ABL; which were already integrated in the backend of the EVcharge brand, known for its experience in the sector and its commitment to electric mobility and environmental sustainability.
Promoting sustainable mobility in Castilla y León
The Fundación Patrimonio Natural de Castilla y León has highlighted the importance of this initiative for the conservation of the environment and the promotion of electric mobility in the region. It has also pointed out that this measure will contribute to improving air quality and reducing the carbon footprint in Castilla y León.
The 28 recharging points will be located in different parts of the autonomous community, including areas of high natural and tourist value such as the Picos de Europa National Park, the Sierra de la Demanda and the Lagunas de Villafáfila Nature Reserve.
