El Prat de Llobregat chooses EVcharge for its new sustainable mobility project and car-sharing service.
More and more public institutions are choosing EVcharge to take part in initiatives committed to environmental protection and the fight against climate change.
The Council of El Prat de Llobregat, located in the province of Barcelona, has chosen EVcharge for its management and charging platform for the public charging service, as well as the operation of ETECNIC. The City Council promotes this initiative to encourage sustainable mobility in the city and has done so with the help of EVcharge by implementing an innovative service of co-use vehicles for the administration and citizens. The good news is that there will be places available for electric car drivers with their own vehicle.
Thanks to EVcharge, the car-charger binomial, El Prat becomes the municipality with the largest fleet of shared electric vehicles
This electric vehicle (EV) sharing service includes the creation of a fleet of electric cars and the installation of a network of charging points. This fleet of EVs will be available to citizens and municipal workers.
The city will have a total of 18 electric charging points, divided between fast and semi-fast chargers, which can be used via an APP.
One of the highlights of the EVcharge service is the mobile App that allows users to have real-time information on the availability of electric vehicles and the location of charging stations. Available on Google Play and App Store.
The choice of locations are strategic for the mobility of the municipality, including public car parks, shopping centres and public buildings, which will allow electric vehicle users to recharge their batteries conveniently and quickly:
- Plaza España (1 fast + 2 semi-fast).
- Centro Promoción Económica (1 fast + 1 semi-fast)
- Casas de Puig (2 semi-fast)
- Galileo Galilei School (2 semi-fast)
Improving the quality of life of the people of El Prat del Llobregat
This innovative project is a real demonstration that electric mobility is becoming one of the keys to the transition towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy model. Thanks to this project, the City Council will help to improve the quality of life of the citizens of El Prat del Llobregat and reduce CO₂ emissions in the city.
Collaboration with ETECNIC, key to success
It is important to highlight ETECNIC’s role as operator and provider of electric vehicle charging infrastructure services in the city. Together with the EVcharge platform, they can offer a 360º service that allows public entities and city councils to promote electric mobility in our country and achieve a more sustainable and scalable energy transition.
