European Mobility Week 2023: 16 to 22 September
European Mobility Week 2023 will be held this year from 16 to 22 September. This campaign, promoted by the European Commission, has the primary purpose of educating and raising awareness among both political leaders and the general public about the inherent benefits, both for our health and our planet, of choosing sustainable modes of transport.
Since its conception in 1999, has evolved with the support of the European Commission. Each edition has been marked by activities and events dedicated to promoting environmentally friendly mobility and encouraging lasting action for sustainability.
Focus on Energy Efficiency
The theme chosen by the European Commission for this year’s 2023 campaign is “Energy Efficiency” and the slogan for this and the coming years will be “Combine and move!
To address this theme, the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda will jointly hold an in-person conference on 21 September, during which the Spanish Sustainable Mobility Week Awards (SEMS 2023 Awards) will also be presented in the Salón de Actos del Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico, located in Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz, Madrid.

Spain leads in participation
It is worth noting that Spain has been a consistent leader in participation. In the last edition, of the 2,989 European municipalities that joined, 489 were Spanish.
It is also essential to underline the active collaboration of civil society, private and public entities, which are involved in activities to raise awareness in communities about the advantages of choosing clean transport. The “Mobility Action”, good practices in sustainable mobility promoted by organisations and companies (excluding municipalities), are a clear example of this effort. Last year, 412 such actions were registered by organisations in Spain.

EVcharge during the European Mobility Week
At EVcharge, one week is not enough, so we have developed a range of events throughout the month of September.
- 🗓️ from 8 to 10 September: our delegate in Madrid, Michael Arroyave, participated in the eighth edition of an exhibition and test of electric vehicles aimed at the citizens of Madrid. Its main purpose was to bring zero-emission mobility closer to both private individuals and public and private professionals (fleets) in Plaza Colón, Madrid.
- 🗓️ from 11 to 15 September: Tour Etecnic360 service stations: our New Business Development Manager, Gustavo Mezquita, has travelled around Spain to promote our service, visiting La Rioja (11/09), Navarra (12/09), Bilbao (13/09), Santander (14/09), Valladolid (15/09).
- 💡9 September: World Electric Vehicle Day: Since 2020, the World Electric Vehicle Day has been commemorated every 9 September, an event created to promote the recognition and adoption of electric mobility solutions, focusing on the preservation of the environment. And as there is no electric vehicle without an electric charger, Etecnic is offering a competition where, among the three prizes, you can win a charger for your home completely free of charge.
- 🔋14 September: Our sales representative Mireia Olivart offered a free training for municipalities on the EVcharge platform that would like to learn all the basic functionalities and reports of our EVcharge Manager charging point management platform. This training is done monthly, don’t miss the next one!
- 📍 21st September: We will be at the exhibition “Combine and move in a healthy way! Solutions for ZBEs” organised by Empresas por la Movilidad Sostenible in the gardens of the new ministries in Madrid. Come and discover what’s new in electric mobility!
- 🔌 21 September: Another training for Companies on the EVcharge platform! We continue with the trainings so that you can learn how to optimise the management of your charging points and your company is updated with everything you need to know to improve the charging experience of your users, customers and employees. - 🚗 28 September: Is your campsite ready for electric cars? You will find us at the Girocamping fair at the Municipal Theatre in Lloret de Mar, Girona. Fifth edition of the professional tourism and camping congress organised by the Girona Campsites Association. It will bring together representatives from all tourism sectors, as well as Etecnic in the electric mobility sector.
