The inauguration of the “LOW COST Supercharger by WEIDERAUTO ELECTRIC” charging HUB marks a milestone in sustainable mobility in Catalonia.
This pioneering project, developed by WEIDERAUTO in collaboration with EVcharge, combines cutting-edge technology, renewable energy, and a smart management model that sets a standard for the future of electric vehicle charging.
Location of the ultra-fast charging HUB: Francolí Industrial Park in Tarragona.
Cutting-edge infrastructure powered by solar energy
The station is equipped with 9 ultra-fast chargers (8 of 120 kW and 1 of 180 kW) that electrify 18 parking spaces. Powered by a 375 kWp photovoltaic solar plant, these chargers ensure sustainable and ultra-fast charging. This model promotes the use of green, local energy, saving 1,200 kg of CO2 daily, equivalent to driving 7,400 km in an electric vehicle.
Innovation and technology with EVcharge
The HUB is managed by the EVcharge platform, ensuring efficient operations and 24/7 availability. This technology allows for real-time monitoring of charging points, optimizing maintenance times, and providing a simplified user experience.
Interoperability: connectivity with other EMSPs
The HUB’s chargers are accessible to users of other E-mobility Service Providers thanks to multiple direct P2P OCPI connections available on EVcharge, significantly increasing visibility and boosting the number of charging sessions. This functionality allows drivers to use their usual apps to locate, start, and pay for charging, eliminating barriers between different charging networks and promoting truly global electric mobility.

The project’s goal is not only to facilitate electric mobility for all users but also to establish a profitable model for WEIDERAUTO ELECTRIC, aligned with its needs, goals, and resources. This initiative aims to maximize revenue generated by the HUB, accelerate return on investment, and ensure long-term financial viability. The combination of competitive rates, advanced technology, and renewable energy ensures an attractive and profitable offering for both users and operators.

An unprecedented user experience
The station offers multiple payment options: the EVcharge APP, which allows users to charge and pay in two clicks, and a payment terminal with POS for users who prefer not to register or download apps. This combination ensures inclusivity for all types of users, both local and foreign, promoting more accessible electric mobility.
Smart Pricing: dynamic rates and vouchers
In a second phase, EVcharge’s Smart Pricing module will be implemented, using artificial intelligence to offer dynamic rates that take into account solar production, energy costs, weather forecasts, traffic predictions, and usage patterns at any given time.
Additionally, thanks to EVcharge technology, WEIDERAUTO ELECTRIC will launch charging vouchers that will offer competitive prices, reaching as low as €0.19 per kWh.
