This campaign, promoted by the European Commission, has the primary purpose of educating and raising awareness among both political leaders and the general public about the inherent benefits, both for our health and our planet, of choosing sustainable modes of transport. <\/span><\/h6>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Since its conception in 1999, has evolved with the support of the European Commission. Each edition has been marked by activities and events dedicated to promoting environmentally friendly mobility and encouraging lasting action for sustainability.<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><b>Focus on<\/b>\u00a0<a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.miteco.gob.es\/es\/calidad-y-evaluacion-ambiental\/temas\/movilidad\/sem_2023.html\"><b>Energy Efficiency<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The theme chosen by the European Commission for this year&#8217;s 2023 campaign is &#8220;Energy Efficiency&#8221; and the slogan for this and the coming years will be &#8220;Combine and move!<\/p>\n<p>To address this theme, the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda will jointly hold an <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeblLtIHTRS3bNO3mRfU_WLQc5nfasMAoZvlmRYJlXJwSvSPg\/viewform?vc=0&amp;c=0&amp;w=1&amp;flr=0\">in-person conference on 21 September<\/a>, during which the Spanish Sustainable Mobility Week Awards (SEMS 2023 Awards) will also be presented in the Sal\u00f3n de Actos del Ministerio para la Transici\u00f3n Ecol\u00f3gica y el Reto Demogr\u00e1fico, located in Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz, Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>For those who cannot attend in person, you can follow it live on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCSansZl-avIMvAeXMQF1M3A\">YouTube channel of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-4 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-five\">\n<h3><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><b>Spain leads in participation<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is worth noting that Spain has been a consistent leader in participation. In the last edition, of the 2,989 European municipalities that joined, 489 were Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>It is also essential to underline the active collaboration of civil society, private and public entities, which are involved in activities to raise awareness in communities about the advantages of choosing clean transport. The &#8220;Mobility Action&#8221;, good practices in sustainable mobility promoted by organisations and companies (excluding municipalities), are a clear example of this effort.
